Online Medical Service Development (Municipal — Released in 3 Months)

Designed, developed, and operated an online medical service in partnership with a local government, end-to-end in 3 months. Covers booking, video consultation, and referral letter issuance.

Challenge

  • Avoiding a medical-device classification while still solving regional healthcare access disparities required careful scoping.
  • The UI had to be radically simplified for elderly users.
  • Had to ship from MVP to production operation within a 3-month window.

Solution

  • Single Flutter implementation for iOS / Android with a minimal Firebase / GCP backend.
  • Limited scope to three features — booking, video calls, and referral letter issuance — and prioritized maximum font size and minimum operations in design.
  • Ran weekly UI reviews with medical staff, continuously refining based on frontline feedback.

Technology Decisions

Why we did not pursue medical-device certification

The product is booking + video calls + document issuance; the medical act itself is performed by the online physician. The platform is positioned as a communications layer and was designed to fall outside the scope of medical-device certification.
